Glial tumor consisting of oligodendrocytes  develop the fatty coverings of nerve cells which provide support and nourishment for neural fibers

Arise in the cerebral hemispheres
•
Classified as low grade or anaplastic
•
 Usually occur in the cerebral white matter
•
Usually very cellular, with uniform nuclei
