Trigeminal Neuralgia is a painful condition usually affecting one side of the face. It causes “shock-like” pain to the forehead, face or jaw area. This may be caused by demyelination (destruction of insulating tissues) of the nerve fibers where the sensory nerve root enters the brain stem.
